Horse Culture and Communication Online Workshop
Have you ever noticed your horse nuzzles, nudges, licks, leans, breathes on you or your clients in certain areas? Have you wondered why? Or have you just assumed it’s pushy behaviour or it’s because he loves you? Does she lick, chew, yawn, or put her head to the ground after?Have you noticed all that your horse is telling you?
Horses work with and for us in so many ways, from the physical to emotional to energetic. Are you aware of the First Law of Thermodynamics and it’s association to our interactions with horses? This law that energy can be neither created nor destroyed, only transformed, is part of the equine language and barometer. Ever wondered why you just feel better in the presence of a horse after a stressful day? Are you aware of the concept of entrainment and how it works with horses and humans?
And why are horses so often “itchy” at the same time and in the same place while engaging “mutual grooming”? Why do certain horses behave the way they do in the herd?

Your Instructor
“Leah Dyck brings a passion for wellness for both human and equine. She is co-owner of Stone Clad Farms, a Master level Reiki practitioner, a Certified Equine Assisted Learning Facilitator, Facilitator of Guidance of the Horse (Wellness and Balance) and Teachings of the Horse (Equine Assisted Learning) programs as well as associated workshop offerings. She also manages a veterinary equine reproduction department during breeding season. A lifetime horse person, from a horse family, with experience under a number of respected trainers and coaches, Leah participated in the jumper arena as a junior rider to 1.20m and continues to try to find time to ride. Leah has an extra interest in holistic horse care with an integrated approach and managed a successful warmblood breeding farm from 1996-2009. Since then she has taken some time at home to raise her children and manage her own farm with her husband and daughters. Leah also participated in her mother's holistic health and wellness facility, Namaste, in Sherwood Park for its 10 year duration where she learned a variety of complementary health and wellness modalities. Leah's primary goal is to give back. Horses have enhanced her life in a profound way and finding ways to share them with those who may otherwise not have the opportunity is a driving force. Ultimately, these interactions are good for the horses and good for the people. They create a ripple effect that flows out into the world in a positive way.”
